This expedition offers a rare chance to see emperor penguins in the wild, deep in the Weddell Sea. Weather and ice permitting, helicopters may transfer guests from the ship to landing points near Snow Hill Island, followed by a short hike to reach a remote emperor penguin rookery of around 4,000 breeding pairs.
The route explores remote Antarctic coastlines including Brown Bluff and Deception Island. Along the way, guests may see gentoo, chinstrap, and Adélie penguins, leopard seals, and whales.
